Thursday night’s sell-out Birmingham Publicity Association Carnival event was the latest of Superdream’s networking events. The night saw faces from the city’s best agencies, media owners and their lovely clients descend on Digbeth Dining, home of one of the UK’s finest street food scenes.

Hosted at Mama Roux’s, at the heart of Brum’s coolest independent quarter, the event was held in support of LoveBrum, the charity that supports some of the city’s smaller, less well-known charities. Carnival goers were treated to the best circus acts, fire eaters and acrobats, whilst devouring amazing Thai food and most mouth-watering waffles, which came finished with towering chocolate and sweet extras. Blackjack tables, courtesy of Broadway Casino, added to the atmosphere; with the cheering and celebrating of the gamblers following another big (fake) money winner echoing around the room all night. A DJ set into the early hours finished the night off in true celebratory style.

As with all of the BPA events the opportunity for guests to let their hair down and mingle with like-minded individuals is important, but not quite as important as the charity fund raising element. Thursday’s event was no different and thanks to support from First Radio, Global, ITV and many other organisations the event raised almost £1,000 for LoveBrum. Who knew enjoying yourself on a school-night could be such a fun as well as a charitable thing to do?
